(As the dawn breaks on an early Monsoon morning, a Brain Fever Bird erupts in a passionate call rhythmically producing sweet notes, rising to a crescendo. Soon, it is joined by the more melodious call of its cousin, the Koel. The duet of these enchanting but rival musicians lasts for a long time regaling me with the sweetness and innocence of a music rarely heard. It’s a duet both divine and delightful, captivating and enthralling.
The trees and the bushes; and birds and the butterflies, stand up in a silent grateful applause.)
Nestled deep in the verdant foliage's embrace, Enveloped by tender emotions' grace, I feel a trance, ethereal, taking hold of me, I yearn for my love's enchanting decree. And I call for her with sweet, melodious rhymes, My songs reach crescendo, reaching celestial chimes, Rising from notes low, like a symphony's birth, A serenade of passion and love's endless worth. Yet, amid the harmonious breeze's embrace, Melodious, yes, but laced with anger's trace, Another voice joins in, a rival's tune, Koel, my cousin, sings in resentment's swoon. Unfazed, I weave my verses, a poet's art, Richness and rhythm, hand in hand, impart, For hours we duel, matching note by note, Nature listens, enraptured, to our poetic rote. But then, with determined spirit, I ascend, My call reverberates, a voice that won't bend, Notched far above the rival's fleeting sound, Echoing through the woods, boundless and unbound. A hushed silence descends upon the glade, Vanquished, she falls to a broken cascade, No response from Koel's defeated refrain, While I linger, victorious, over the terrain. The trees and bushes, fellow birds, and squirrels, Enraptured by nature's most magical pearls, Witness the spectacle of our divine duet, They break into a silent applause, no words to forget. In this symphony of the heart's desires, Sweet melodies ignite cool fires, Two artists entwined in song's eternal flight, As dawn gives way to light, painting glowing skies in delight.
