( I lost a school-day friend, a friends for decades: unexpectedly, prematurely. It brings grief and sadness and certain resignation to the nature’s designs)
Like the golden leaves of Autumn
Drifting gently to the ground
Friends and loved ones depart
Their absence felt all around
Each farewell is a reminder
Of the fleeting nature of life
Of the memories we hold dear
Of love, laughter, joy, and strife
Every goodbye brings with it
A sense of solemnity and regret
The end of an era we cherish
The closing of a certain gate
Like the ebb and flow of the tide
Life moves in cycles of birth and decay
Death is but a natural part
Of the rhythm we must all obey
Destruction is the prelude to creation
Chaos gives way to order and peace
The storm must rage before the calm
Death is the catalyst for life’s release
So let us not mourn or weep
But celebrate the ones we have known
For in their passing, they leave behind
A legacy that will forever be shown
Death is not the end, but a pause
A transition to a new phase of existence
A moment to reflect and appreciate
The beauty of life’s sheer persistence
So let us celebrate their lives
And the joy that they brought our way
For in their absence, we find strength
To cherish each moment, each day.
